Stone Beauty

Dry stone walls punctuate the landscape around our home their emphasis changing with the season. Our walk today took us across the fields to Bradley Burn. I was struck with how beautiful a thread the walls made through the blanket of snow - each block of stone jammed together making them unshakable.

First

New Year and the beginning of a new decade. When I reflect back over the last ten years I am in awe at what has been achieved and the growing up that has been done. Qualifications, career changes, death of loved ones, friendships, marriage and three moves. All leading in someway, big or small to here, our lovely new house on the hill. It has been wonderful celebrating our first Christmas and New Year in Weardale and as we say goodbye to 2009 I wonder what is in store for the years ahead.....................
